Reserve Book Club in a Bag online

Library patrons are now able to reserve one of our Book Clubs in a Bag on our website using new software called KitKeeper. Each Book Club in a Bag contains 10 copies of a book, discussion questions, author information, and read-alike bookmarks. Book Clubs in a Bag are available to anyone with a valid Lakeland Library Cooperative library card, but must be checked out in-person at the Loutit District Library Adult Information Desk. Bags circulate for six weeks. If you have questions, ask at the Adult Information Desk or call 616.842.5560 x214.

Changes to the Shared Lakeland Catalog

On September 17, 2015, the Kent District Library will have a new online catalog.  Kent District Library (KDL) holdings will no longer be displayed in the shared Lakeland catalog.  More

New @ the Library

To see what's new at the library, click on the Books and More menu and scroll down to New Items @ LDL.  This replaces the scrolling books that used to appear at the bottom of this page.

Michigan Activity Pass (MAP)

Beginning May 24, the Michigan Activity Pass will be available at all of Michigan’s nearly 400 public libraries. Discover Michigan using your library card!  Check out a free pass for one of Michigan’s cultural attractions or state parks and recreation areas. We are pleased to offer Zinio for Libraries

Loutit District Library, in partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books, is pleased to offer Zinio for Libraries. Awarded Best New Database of 2012 byLibrary Journal, Zinio is the world’s largest newsstand, offering multi-user access to popular publications. 

Through our website, Loutit patrons will have unlimited multi-user access to complete digital magazines, which can easily be viewed on most Internet-enabled devices inside or outside of the library. Zinio’s unique technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full color pictures, intuitive navigation, key word article search and interactive elements such as audio and video. Every Day with Rachael Ray, Forbes, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and The New Yorker are just a few of the popular titles available.
