LOAN INFORMATION
Anyone with a valid library
card in the Lakeland Library Cooperative may check out books from the
library. There is no age limit to obtain a library card. First-time
library cards are free at Loutit. There is, however, a small fee of
$2.00 for a replacement card. You may use your Loutit Library
card at any library within the cooperative. If your library card is lost
or stolen, please report it to the library.
Below is a partial list of materials that can be checked out of the
library and the cost, if any. If the book you are looking for is a popular
title (usually a new title) or from another library within the
cooperative, you make ask to have the book put on hold for you
or you may place the hold yourself at one of our Lakenet terminals in the
library or from your home computer. When the book becomes available, it
goes to the next person on the hold list. All items ordered through other libraries are subject to the
lending library’s fees and fines. Items ordered usually arrive within 7
- 10 days of placing the order. Also, if the material you are looking for
is not available through the cooperative, ask the reference librarian
about a Superloan request. Materials may be ordered from all over the
country for a $5.00 - $15.00 fee.
Listed below are the fines that will be incurred if the item is not
returned by the due date. There is no grace period on any fine. Please
note that late charges on videos and CD ROMS are $1.00 PER DAY. Library
materials may be returned to any of the Lakeland Library Cooperative
libraries.
