Covid-19 Changes

COVID-19 Social Distancing Changes

Our copiers, printers, and fax are available again to the public! If you would prefer copies, prints, and faxing to be done through our curbside or locker service, please e-mail [email protected] with the documents, along with your name and phone number. We will call you to schedule a time to pick up your print job. As a courtesy, your library card can be charged for the price of the job and may be paid from the comfort of your home through your online library account. Don’t have a library card? We can accept exact change at time of pickup.

Loutit’s Other Services

Public Computers and Printing

COVID-19 Update: Public computers are available on the upper level in the Adult Wing for two-hour time slots. Keyboards are cleaned with UVC light every hour. Printing, including color printing, is available for 15 cents per page. For further information, see our Internet Access page.

Free Wi-Fi

COVID-19 Update: Access our Wi-Fi outside and after hours in our parking garage, on our outdoor patio and at Central Park.

Copying & Faxing

Our copier is accessible for public use on the upper level near the Circulation desk. Copies are available for 15 cents per page. Staff at the Reference & Information Desk can assist you with faxing which is available for 50 cents a page.

Study Rooms

Study rooms are available for two hours on a first come, first serve basis. To use a room, stop by our Reference and Information desk.

Hotspots

Checking out a hotspot is easy! Present a valid library card at the Reference and Information Desk and get connectivity for three weeks! All startup instructions are included and technical assistance is available, but getting connected is so easy, we don’t think you’ll need our help.

Please be sure to return the hotspot by the due date to be courteous to others waiting to checkout. After the hotspot is overdue, it will no longer function. Hotspots must be returned to the Reference and Information Desk.

Enjoy the connectivity and expand your horizons! For assistance, call 616.850.6914 or email [email protected].

Chromebooks Now Available

Chromebooks are now available to checkout at the Reference & Information desk on the Upper Level!

What is a Chromebook:

A Chromebook is portable computer that is optimized for internet use. They are designed to be used while connected to the Internet, using the Chrome browser and digital apps. Loutit District Library patrons can place holds, but they are first-come, first-serve for non-LDL patrons.

What to know:

They are a 7-day checkout and come with a power cord and carrying case. Chromebooks MUST be returned to the Information desk: Chromebooks placed in the book returns will accrue a $10 fine. If there are multiple offenses, the patron will no longer be able to checkout a Chromebook. LDL staff clears the Chromebook of user info between each checkout. If you have previously checked out a Chromebook, your information, passwords, and files will not be saved.
