1. Download
Download the Libby app from your table or phone’s app store and follow the directions to set up:
2. Borrow
Browse your library’s collection and borrow a title by touching “Borrow” next to the book’s cover. On the next screen, touch the “Borrow” button again.
3. Enjoy
You can now select Open Book, Keep Browsing, or Go To Shelf to see all of your borrowed titles and holds.
OverDrive on a Computer
1. Browse or Search
Browse or search the collection here. Simply sign in using your Loutit District Library card number.
2. Borrow
Click on a title to borrow it. Titles you’ve borrowed will appear on your Bookshelf under your Account. You can borrow up to 10 titles at one time. Magazines do not count towards your 10 title limit.
3. Enjoy
On your Bookshelf, you’ll find options for enjoying each borrowed title, like Download (for use on a supported device), Read (in your browser), or Listen (in your browser).

Kanopy
Get Started Using Kanopy
Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema. Library card holders can access Kanopy and sign up to start streaming films from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku. If you need help or have questions, ask the staff at the Information Desk or consult Kanopy Support.
Kanopy is a pay-to-play format. Currently, each card holder gets 10 plays per month. When you select a movie, the library is charged $2 and you have 72 hours to watch the material once selected. If you select a kids’ movie or something from the Great Courses series, the library is charged $5 and you have 30 days to watch. Please enjoy but please choose carefully so we can continue to offer this service.
