Throughout February, the Loutit District Library encourages everyone to go beyond Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17 or even Random Acts of Kindness Week and celebrate a whole month of kindness and community connection.

It's simple: Be kind! Show kindness in ways that feel right to you. Kindness Month is dedicated to fostering support within our community. Here are some ideas for how you can spread kindness:
- Mail a handwritten letter or handmade card to someone you know.
- Be friendly to your neighbor.
- Cook a meal for someone going through a hard time.
- Donate blood. (Register for our Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, March 9th, here!)
- Cover someone's coffee, meal, or groceries.
- Donate used books to Cheapstacks or a little library around town.
- Share a wholesome joke.
- Look in a mirror and say 3 positive things about yourself.
- Support a local small business.

Become a Library Sponsor this February. You can choose from books, craft supplies, toys, library technology, and more. The items you sponsor will replace outdated, worn, or even lost or damaged items from another patron, clearing the charge on their account and allowing the library to purchase a replacement. Pick a heart ❤️ ornament from one of the lit birch trees and bring it to the Circulation or Information Desk; staff will be happy to assist you!
Can't make it in, but still want to sponsor something?

- Nonperishable foods (canned & dehydrated foods)
- Hygiene products (toothbrushes/toothpaste & soaps)
- Menstrual products (pads & tampons)
- Baby products (formula & diapers)

Our very own Tuesday Night Knitting Group has donated HANDMADE hats, scarves, and mittens to help you get through these chilly months. Donate what you can, or take whatever you need!
